RACE360, an Emerging Technologies Conference by REVA University

Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity and Blockchain, were the three key themes of RACE360, an Emerging Technology Conference, organized by REVA University, at Hotel Lalit Ashok on August 28th 2019. The event was a confluence of 30 plus senior industry leaders as speakers, and participation of more than 350 mid and senior leaders representing 100 plus organizations as delegates. The Conference was inaugurated by Hon’ble Chancellor of REVA University, Dr. P. Shyama Raju; Renil Komitla, President and CEO, Terralogic, Dilip Khandelwal, MD, SAP Labs; Rama Vedashree, CEO of Data Security Council of India, along with other noted dignitaries.

Dr. P. Shyama Raju on his inaugural address commented that technology conferences such as these will help professionals, and students to exchange ideas and learn on technological advancements and prepare them to build their careers. Dilip Khandelwal, MD of SAP Labs in India, spoke on how rapidly new technologies are disrupting both the large and small organizations. Companies like SAP are working together with other organizations in building solutions than products by harnessing the power of data and technology. Ms. Rama Vedashree, CEO of Data Security Council of India noted that India is growing as a global Cybersecurity hub in not just as a service provider but, also as a research and development centre.

Deepak Lalan, a Blockchain Practice Leader, Accenture spoke on the power of three; IOT,  Blockchain and Artificial Intelligence coming together and how such convergence can bring new business models and disrupt the current ones.  He brought out interesting use cases from various sectors like healthcare, supply chain, and autonomous cars where the three technologies can converge.

Chris Arnold, SVP and Head of Product, Analytics and Modeling, Wells Fargo spoke on the flipside of analytics and AI.  He stated that the face of the world is changing because of AI algorithms and hence what we do with data is very critical.  He believes as data scientists, we need to take responsibility, respect data privacy, and understand where the data is coming from and how it is presented to the world in order to avoid critical situations.

The event was well curated with keynote sessions, knowledge tracks and panel discussions, an invite only CHRO dialogue on adopting analytics for HR was also part of this event. A workshop on Computer vision with AI and Cyberhack, a live Hackathon using Cyber range as a simulator and more such events were other attractions of the conference. The comicstans fame Shankar Chugani regaled the audience in his stand-up comedy show. The conference concluded with awards and recognitions to winners of the contests and hackathon by the Hon’ble Chancellor of REVA University, Dr. P. Shyama Raju.
