Driving Tech Empowerment Through Micro Innovations

Kajal Shah

Co-Founder & Chief Executive Officer, Dreamfly Innovations

“Small, precise innovations create outsized, lasting impact.”

Kajal Shah has been recognised at the Top 10 Women Tech Leaders India Awards 2026, presented by REVA Academy for Corporate Excellence (RACE), REVA University. The awards honour women who lead with impact in technology and actively create opportunities for other women.

Kajal Shah is a second-time entrepreneur and Co-Founder of Dreamfly Innovations, a Bengaluru-based deep-tech battery technology company building power solutions for the drone, aerospace, robotics and defence sectors. An alumna of IIT Bombay, she combines strong technical grounding with a belief in driving empowerment through micro innovations. At Dreamfly, she leads engineering, strategy, operations, human resources and communications.

01

Scaling Deep Tech

Kajal brings 14 years of experience building and running companies, with Dreamfly Innovations marking her second venture. Under her leadership, the company has filed multiple patents and raised a Series A round backed by marquee investors.

The company’s growth reflects the scale of her impact:

  • The team has grown from 8 founding members to an organisation of 80, with strong leadership across functions
  • Operations have expanded from 1,000 square feet to a 40,000 square-foot manufacturing base
  • Dreamfly now operates one of India’s largest dedicated drone-battery facilities, serving the country’s drone OEM ecosystem directly

Together, these milestones represent the transformation of an early-stage idea into critical national infrastructure for India’s drone and aerospace industry.

02

Advancing Women in Deep Tech

At Dreamfly, Kajal has prioritised bringing women into senior, strategic roles rather than limiting their presence to support functions. In deep-tech battery engineering, where women remain significantly underrepresented, this is a deliberate effort to give women genuine influence over technology and business decisions.

The commitment extends to the shop floor, where the company is bringing more women engineers and technicians onto its production line. For Kajal, meaningful empowerment begins within an organisation’s own structure, from the production floor to the boardroom.

03

The Road Ahead

Kajal’s vision centres on Physical AI: battery systems intelligent and adaptive enough to power any autonomous platform, whether in the air, on land or at sea. She aims for Dreamfly to become the power backbone of India’s autonomous ecosystem.
